What is a Program?

JOGL

Last Update há 4 anos

JOGL Programs offer thematic frameworks within which solutions can be created. A JOGL Program hosts several Challenges on a long-term span to guarantee impact. JOGL Programs are also organized and overseen by community coordinators from JOGL as well as volunteers.

All JOGL Programs are linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Existing JOGL Programs are the Co-Immune Program (2019) and the OpenCovid19 Initiative Program (2020).

Are Programs competitions?

No, not in the traditional sense. We encourage cooperation throughout Programs between participants. The end goal of a Program is to create open knowledge and data and to provide open source solutions in a specific area of interest (could be a specific issue such as one defined by the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations). To encourage contribution, Programs promote and support the most promising open science and open source innovation projects.
